Challenges and needs of women in prison: a study on social and health factors

This scientific article presents a comprehensive study on the challenges and needs of women in prison, with focus social health-related factors. The research aims to identify key problems faced by incarcerated women, analyze economic factors contributing their difficult situations, assess HIV infection rates, evaluate prevention activities within prison system. employed mixed-methods approach, utilizing formalized questionnaire consisting primarily closed semi-closed questions. Data collection was conducted online using Google Forms platform, database processed SPSS for statistical analysis. survey from July November 2021, involving 63 female respondents Almaty city region Republic Kazakhstan. findings reveal significant issues affecting prison. majority were reproductive age, substantial portion had multiple convictions, indicating resocialization efforts. lack identity documents emerged as critical factor hindering successful reintegration.
